Preschool: Jesus Is Alive: Session 1—Jesus Is Alive! (April 5)

im1s & 2s—Move Pom-poms

Bible Story: Jesus Is Alive John 20:1-18
Life Point: Jesus is alive!
Weekly Verse: Jesus is alive. Matthew 28:7

Materials: Teaching Picture 6, two large bowls, large pom-poms, tongs

  • Place the pom-poms in one bowl. Display the teaching picture nearby.
  • Invite preschoolers to move the pom-poms from one bowl to another. Talk about the Bible story as preschoolers work. 
  • Show the teaching picture and tell preschoolers that Jesus is alive and Jesus loves us.

3–Pre-K—Talk on Phones

Bible Story: Jesus Is Alive John 20:1-18
Life Point: Jesus is alive!
Weekly Verse: Jesus is alive. Matthew 28:7

Materials: Teaching Picture 4, toy phones, old cell phones (remove batteries)

  • Arrange the phones and the teaching picture on a table.
  • Invite boys and girls to talk on the phones to each other or to pretend friends. Suggest they could tell a friend about Jesus.
  • Point to the teaching picture. Say: “Mary saw Jesus. God made Jesus alive again!”
  • Guide children to say “Jesus is alive!” to friends on the phones.

Kindergarten—Build a Bible Story Scene

Bible Story: Jesus Is Alive John 20:1-18
Life Point: Jesus is alive!
Weekly Verse: Jesus is alive. Matthew 28:7

Materials: Teaching Picture 6, wooden blocks, river rock (block-sized), peg-type clothespins, fine-point markers

  • Prop the teaching picture next to the blocks and other items.
  • Point to the teaching picture to kids and briefly tell the Bible story. Point out the other materials. Tell kids they can use the clothespins and markers to make people figures. Then they can use the blocks and the rock to build the Bible story scene and dramatize the story using the clothespin people.
  • Say: “God sent Jesus. Jesus died but God made Him alive again. Thank You, God.”
