1s & 2s—Play in a Boat
Bible Story: Jesus Helped the Fishermen Luke 4:42–5:11
Life Point: Jesus did things that no one else could do.
Weekly Verse: Jesus went about doing good. Acts 10:38
Materials: Teaching Picture 3, large box, books about Jesus
- Cut off the bottom of a large box to use as a boat. Place the Teaching Picture and books in the “boat.”
- Invite one or two preschoolers to sit in the boat. Show the Teaching Picture and tell the Bible story. Comment that Jesus’ friends were fishing from a boat.
- Offer to read a book to the preschoolers, if interested. Say that Jesus did things no one else could do.
3–Pre-K—Make Net Prints

Weekly Verse: Jesus went about doing good. Acts 10:38
Materials: Teaching Picture 3, nylon netting, tape, blocks, washable paint, painting smocks, shallow pans, paper towels, paper
- Cut the netting into large squares that will fit around a block. Tape the netting on one side of the blocks. Pour paint over a damp paper towel in a shallow container to make a stamping surface.
- When children show interest in the activity, show the Teaching Picture and talk about the Bible story. Tell how the men caught fish in a net, not on a pole.
- Show children how to press the net side of the block into paint and then onto their papers. Talk about other things Jesus did that no one else could do.
Kindergarten—Dot Paint the Verse

Weekly Verse: Jesus went about doing good. Acts 10:38
Materials: Teaching Picture 3, paper, marker, dot painters
- Print the Weekly Verse on a paper for each kindergartner. Read the verse as you distribute the papers.
- Show the Teaching Picture and tell the Bible story as kids work. Say that Jesus helped the fishermen because He did things no one else could do.
- Encourage kids to display their papers at home and practice saying the verse with their families.
