  • Comment that God planned for families to care for His world. Ask the children about ways their families help care for God’s world.

Kindergarten—Chart Ways to Work

Bible Story: God Planned for Families Genesis 1:27-28; 3:20; 4:1-2
Life Point: God planned for families to care for His world.
Weekly Verse: God made man and woman. Genesis 1:27

Materials: Teaching Picture 12, paper, marker, ruler

  • Draw a chart on the paper using the ruler and a marker. Make enough rows for each child in your class. At the top of each column, print a way a family could care for God’s world. Ask the kindergartners to help you decide what kinds of things to include. You can suggest things such as recycling, doing yard work, picking up trash outside, and so forth.
  • Invite each child to look at the chart, decide what his family does, and make a check mark in that column.
  • Show the Teaching Picture. Talk about the first family. Lead the kids to say the Weekly Verse.
