1s & 2s—Make a Handprint Mural

Bible Story: God Made People Genesis 1:26–2:24
Life Point: God made people.
Weekly Verse: God placed the man in the garden to take care of it. Genesis 2:15

Materials: Teaching Picture 12, long sheet of paper, washable paint, shallow pans, painting smocks, marker, tape

• Tape the long sheet of paper to the wall or the floor. Pour paint into the shallow containers. Write the Life Point across the top of the banner.
• Help a preschooler put on a smock. She can dip her hands in the paint and press them onto the paper. Allow her to make different colors of handprints. Print her name under her handprints.
• Talk about the Bible story as children paint. Comment that God made all people and wants them to care for His world. Point to the people in the teaching picture.

3–Pre-K—Work People Puzzles

Materials: Bible, paper strip, Teaching Picture 12, wooden puzzles featuring people

• Place the strip in the Bible at Genesis 2:15. Lay the teaching picture with the puzzles. 
• Talk about the Bible story as children work puzzles. Comment that God created people on day 6 after He made the animals. Point to the people in the teaching picture.
• Open the Bible to the marked passage and say the verse: “God placed man in the garden to take care of it. Genesis 2:15.” Thank God for creating the world and making people.

Kindergarten—Make a Measurement Poster

Bible Story: God Made People Genesis 2:4-24; 3
Life Point: God made people.
Weekly Verse: God placed the man in the garden to take care of it. Genesis 2:15

Materials: Teaching Picture 12, poster board, marker, scale, measuring tape or yardstick, tape

• Draw a chart on the poster with three columns: Name, Height, Weight. Attach the poster to the wall. Attach the measuring tape to the wall with the bottom touching the floor.
• Invite a kindergartner to print his name on the poster. Help him measure his height and weight and print those on the poster, too. 
• Talk about the differences in each person’s measurements. Comment that God made all  people different. Thank God for His creation.
