1s & 2s—Dig for Animals
Bible Story: God Created Animals Genesis 1:20-25,30-31
Life Point: God made animals.
Weekly Verse: God saw everything He had made, and it was very good. Genesis 1:31
Materials: Teaching Picture 10, box, shredded paper, plastic or wooden animal figures
- Hide the animal figures in a box filled with shredded paper. Prop the Teaching Picture near the box.
- Invite 1s and 2s to dig in the box to find the animals.
- Talk about the Bible story as preschoolers search. Point to the different animals in the Teaching Picture.
- Say the Weekly Bible Verse and encourage the preschoolers to repeat it with you.
3–Pre-K— Make Animal Masks

Materials: Teaching Picture 10, paper plates, scissors, paper scraps, glue sticks, markers
- Before the session, cut eye holes in the paper plates. Display the Teaching Picture with the art materials.
- Tell the Bible story and point to the Teaching Picture. Guide the children to name the different animals in the picture. Talk about the children’s favorite animals.
- Give each child a paper plate and encourage him to make a mask of his favorite animal. Thank God for His creation.
Kindergarten— Set Up an Animal Museum

Materials: animal figures, pictures of animals, index cards, pens or markers
- Invite kindergartners to create a museum display of animals. They can arrange the figures or pictures on a table or shelf. Help them print the names of the animals onto index cards to display with the figures or pictures.
- Talk about the Bible story as children work. Emphasize that God made the fish and birds on day 5 and the land animals on day 6. Guide kids to repeat the Weekly Verse.
- Invite other kids to visit the completed museum.
