Bible Story: God Made the World Genesis 1:1-19
Life Point: God made the world.
Weekly Verse: God made the earth and everything in it. Nehemiah 9:6
Materials: allergy sign, paper, leaves of different shapes and sizes, paint, foam paintbrushes, painting smocks, marker
- Print the Weekly Verse onto a paper for each child. Post the allergy alert listing the types of leaves being used.
- When a preschooler shows interest in the activity, help him put on a smock. Point to and say the words on the paper. Comment that God made all the plants and trees.
- Allow the child to choose the leaves he would like to use for his paper. Help him brush paint on one side of a leaf and press it onto his paper. For younger preschoolers, brush the paint on yourself and help the child press it.
- Say a prayer thanking God for making the world.
3–Pre-K—Trace Stencils

Materials: Teaching Picture 10, stencils or cookie (leaves, flowers, stars, planets), paper, colored pencils, stickers (optional)
- Print the Weekly Verse onto a paper for each child. Invite boys and girls to trace the shapes onto paper.
- Point to the teaching picture and tell what was created on the first four days of creation.
- Point to the Weekly Verse on their papers and lead them to repeat the verse with you. Thank God for creating the world.
- Provide stickers for younger children who may not be able to trace the shapes.
Kindergarten—Make a Creation Book
Bible Story: God Made the World Genesis 1:1-19
Life Point: God created everything.
Weekly Verse: God made the earth and everything in it. Nehemiah 9:6
Materials: Teaching Picture 10, half sheets of white copy paper, pictures cut from magazines or the internet (sky, bodies of water, plants, flowers, trees, fruit, sun, moon, stars, planets), glue sticks, markers, stapler with staples
- Staple five half sheets of paper together on one side. Arrange the items on a table.
- Invite kindergartners to make a creation book. Direct them to write Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4 on the pages, one per page. They can find pictures of what God created on the days and glue them on the correct page. On the fifth page they should write the Weekly Verse: God made the earth and everything in it. Nehemiah 9:6.
- Talk about the Bible story and show the teaching picture as children work on their books. Comment that God created everything.
- Say a brief prayer thanking God for the world.
