Bible Story: God Made the World Genesis 1:1-19
Life Point: God made the world.
Weekly Verse: In the beginning God made the world. Genesis 1:1
Materials: Teaching Picture 9, small empty, clean water bottles; sunflower seeds in a large container; scoop; large funnel; seed packets; glue or tape
- Invite preschoolers to make a shaker. Help a child scoop some seeds into the funnel placed in a bottle.
- Comment that God made plants with seeds so more plants could grow; many plants God made are used for food.
- Glue or tape the lid on the bottle. Show the Teaching Picture and guide children to point to the plants in the picture. Look at the seed packets and talk about the kinds of plants that grow from them.
- Say the Weekly Verse as children shake their shakers.
3–Pre-K—Trace Star Stencils

Materials: Teaching Picture 9, star stencils or cookie cutters, paper, colored pencils, stickers (optional)
- Print the Weekly Bible Verse onto a paper for each child. Invite boys and girls to trace the stars onto paper.
- Point to the Teaching Picture and tell what was created on the first four days of creation.
- Encourage the children to tell some things they know about stars. Thank God for creating the world.
- Provide stickers for younger children who may not be able to trace the shapes.
Kindergarten—Make a Creation Book

Materials: Teaching Picture 9, paper, markers, magazine pictures, scissors, glue sticks, stapler
- Cut the paper half. Give each child several half-sheets of paper.
- Point to the Teaching Picture and briefly tell the Bible story. Emphasize what was made each day of the first four days of creation.
- Encourage kindergartners to draw or glue pictures of things God created. Help them remember each day of creation.
- Help kindergartners staple together their pages when their books are complete. Thank God for creating the world.
