1s & 2s— Look Through Binoculars
Bible Story: Baby Moses Exodus 2:1-10
Life Point: I can choose to help.
Weekly Verse: Help one another. Ephesians 4:32
Materials: Teaching Picture 3, toy binoculars, tape
- Attach the Teaching Picture to a wall with tape.
- Invite preschoolers to look through the binoculars. Comment on things they might see in the room. Direct them to the Teaching Picture and to look at the picture with the binoculars.
- Tell the Bible story as preschoolers look at the picture. Comment that Miriam helped her mother by watching her baby brother. Say the Weekly Verse.
3–Pre-K— Set the Table
Bible Story: Esther Helped Her People Esther 2:2-18; 3:8-13; 4:5-17; 5:1-8; 7:1-10; 8:5-12
Life Point: I can choose to do what is right.
Weekly Verse: Do what is right. 2 Corinthians 13:7
Materials: toy dishes, placemats, napkins
- Invite the boys and girls to set the table for a special dinner.
- Talk about the Bible story as children set the table. Comment that Esther invited the king to a special dinner.
- Say that Esther did what was right by helping her people. Talk about choices kids make that are right.
Kindergarten— Make Books
Bible Story: Esther Helped Her People Esther 2:2-18; 3:8-13; 4:5-17; 5:1-8; 7:1-10; 8:5-12

Weekly Verse: Do what is right. 2 Corinthians 13:7
Materials: Bible, white or manila construction paper, markers, gel pens, colored pencils, scissors
- Cut a 4-by-12-inch strip of paper for each child. Show kids how to fold the paper in half (short ends together), then fold each end back to the middle. This will make an accordion-style book.
- Comment that kids can choose to do what is right. Lead kids to make books about doing what is right. Kids can write words and draw pictures to make their books.
- Talk about Esther as kids work. Mention that Esther did what was right to save her people.
- Open the Bible and say the Weekly Verse together. Print the verse for kids to copy in their books.
