Bible Story: Deborah Followed God’s Plan Judges 4:1-16,23-24
Life Point: God has a plan for His people.
Weekly Verse: Love God and always do what He says. Genesis 30:20
Materials: Teaching Picture 13, paper, pencil, crayons
- Before the session, print God has a plan across the top of each paper.
- Trace around a preschooler’s hands onto a paper. Encourage her to decorate her hands with the crayons.
- Show the teaching picture and talk about the Bible story as preschoolers draw. Say the Bible verse. Comment that God has plans for their lives.
3–Pre-K— Paint a Resist

Materials: Teaching Picture 13, white construction paper, white crayons, thinned blue paint, paintbrushes, painting smocks
- Before the session, use a white crayon to print the Life Point across the top of each paper. Print the words with heavy lines.
- Help a child put on a smock before painting. Tell him you have written a secret message across the top of his paper. Encourage him to use a white crayon to add a design to the bottom part of his paper. Tell him to make the lines heavy.
- After a child is finished drawing, he can paint over his whole paper with the thin paint to reveal the message and his drawing.
- Show the teaching picture and talk about the Bible story as children draw and paint. Read the message at the top of the page.
Kindergarten—Make Verse Puzzles
Bible Story: God Provided the Savior Isaiah 53
Life Point: God promised to send Jesus.
Weekly Verse: God promised to send Jesus. 1 John 2:25
Materials: Bible, paper plates, markers, scissors, sandwich-size ziplock bags, paper strip
- Write the Weekly Verses, 1 John 2:25, in the center of a paper plate. Use letters large enough to fill the space. Place a strip of paper in the Bible at 1 John 2:25Display the teaching picture and paper plate on the table with the other materials.
- Tell the Bible story as kids come to the center. Say this Bible story is from Isaiah, a prophet who told about God’s words.
- Invite kids to print the verse onto a paper plate. They can cut their plates into pieces to make a puzzle. Allow them to decorate their puzzles before cutting apart.
- After working her puzzle, a kid can store it in a ziplock bag to take home.
