Kindergarten— Cut Heart Shapes
Bible Story: Baby Moses Exodus 1:8–2:10
Life Point: We can care for and protect our family members.
Weekly Verse: Take care of your family. 1 Timothy 5:4
Materials: Bible, construction paper, scissors, pencils, markers, Weekly Verse printed on paper
- Fold several pieces of construction paper in half. With a pencil draw half of a heart shape on some of the folded paper, starting and ending at the edge of the fold line. Place materials on a table.
- When children come to the table, suggest they cut heart shapes. A child can choose to cut on the drawn line, draw his own line on folded paper before cutting, or cut with no line.
- Encourage children to use the heart to make a card or note for their mothers or other family members. They can print the Weekly Verse, print their own messages, or draw pictures and create designs.
- Comment that a heart shape often reminds us of love. Open the Bible to 1 Timothy 5:4 and read the Weekly Verse. Say we can show love by protecting our families.
