1s & 2s—Play with People Figures
Bible Story: God Made People Genesis 1:26–2: 24
Life Point: God made people to care for the world.
Weekly Verse: God made people. Genesis 1:27
Materials: Teaching Picture 4, wooden or vinyl people figures, cardboard blocks
- Place the people figures with the blocks. Lay the teaching picture nearby.
- Tell the Bible story as the children play. Say that God made the first people, Adam and Eve, and God made them, too. Encourage the children to point to Adam and Eve in the teaching picture.
- Remind the preschoolers that God told Adam and Eve to care for the world. Say the Weekly Verse with the preschoolers.
3–Pre-K—Plant Seed

Materials: Teaching Picture 4, newspaper, plastic cups, potting soil, spoons, grass seed, spray bottle of water, permanent marker
- Cover a table with news paper for clean-up. Arrange the items on the table.
- When children sit down, briefly tell the Bible story. Remark that God made people to care for the world.
- Give each child a cup, with her name printed on it, and a spoon. Let each child place 2–3 spoons of dirt into his cup, sprinkle with some seed, and cover the seed with 2–3 more spoons of dirt. Kids can take turns spraying their cups with water.
- Point to the teaching picture as kids are working. Say God made all people and God made them.
Kindergarten—Play a Choices Game
Bible Story: Adam and Eve Chose Genesis 2:4-24; 3
Life Point: God made people able to make choices.
Weekly Verse: God made man and woman. Genesis 1:27
Materials: Teaching Picture 4, tape
- Use the tape to make a line in an open area of the room. Invite kids to play the game and to stand on the tape line.
- Tell kids you will ask a question about a choice and point to a side for each choice. Each child should step to the side he would choose. Ask questions such as “Would you choose vanilla or chocolate ice cream?” or “Would you choose a pizza or a hamburger?” Continue asking 5 or 6 more questions, simply based on their likes.
- Show the teaching picture and tell the Bible story. Tell kids that when God made people, He made them able to make choices. Say that Adam and Eve made a choice to disobey God. Comment that sometimes choices are easy, but sometimes they are hard.
- Give a few examples of hard choices, such as keeping money you find or being unkind to a person. Pray, asking God help the boys and girls to make right choices.
