1s & 2s— Dig for Animals

Bible Story: God Made Animals Genesis 1:20-25
Life Point: God made every kind of animal.
Weekly Verse: God saw everything He had made, and it was very good. Genesis 1:31

Materials: Teaching Picture 12, box, shredded paper, plastic or wooden animal figures

• Hide the animal figures in a box filled with shredded paper. Prop the teaching picture near the box.
• Invite 1s and 2s to dig in the box to find the animals.
• Talk about the Bible story as preschoolers search. Point to the different animals in the picture. Say that God made every kind of animal.
• Say the Weekly Bible Verse and encourage the preschoolers to repeat it with you.

3–Pre-K— Make Animal Masks

Materials: Teaching Picture 12, paper plates, scissors, paper scraps, glue sticks, markers

• Before the session, cut eye holes in the paper plates. Display the teaching picture with the art materials.
• Tell the Bible story and point to the teaching picture. Say that God made every kind of animal. Guide the children to name the different animals in the picture. Talk about the children’s favorite animals.
• Give each child a paper plate and encourage him to make a mask of his favorite animal. Say the Weekly Verse with the children. Thank God for His creation.

Kindergarten— Care for Pets

Materials: Teaching Picture 12, stuffed pets (dog, cat), doctor’s kid, food bowls, brushes

• Display the teaching picture with the dramatic play materials. Tell the kids they can pretend to care for pets by feeding, brushing, going to the vet, and so on.
• Tell the Bible story as the kids play. Point to the teaching picture and ask kids to name the different kinds of animals they see. Say that God made every kind of animal.
• Say the Weekly Verse together. Thank God for making animals, especially pets.
