Bible Story: God Made Animals Genesis 1:20-25

Materials: Teaching Picture 1, small stuffed animals; pet care items such as food bowls, comb, empty pet food box
- Invite preschoolers to take care of the animals. Ask if anyone has a pet at home.
- Tell the story and show the teaching picture as the children play. Say: “God made animals. Thank You, God, for making the world.”
3–Pre-K—Use Stencils

Materials: Teaching Picture 1, simple animal stencils, paper, colored pencils
- Show the preschoolers how to hold the stencil and draw around the outline or color inside to make a picture.
- Tell the Bible story and point to the teaching picture as children draw.
- Say: “God made animals. Genesis 1:25.” Thank God for making the world.
Kindergarten—Make an Animal Book
Bible Story: God Made Animals Genesis 1:20-25
Life Point: God made animals.
Weekly Verse: God made animals. Genesis 1:25
Materials: Teaching Picture 1, colored and white construction paper, scissors, markers, stapler with staples
- Cut the white and colored paper into 4½-by-6-inch pieces. On one sheet of paper, print My Favorite Animals and God made animals. Genesis 1:25. Arrange the items on a table.
- Show the teaching picture as you tell the Bible story. Point out different animals in the picture.
- Tell kids they can make a book of their favorite animals. Guide them to copy My Favorite Animals and the verse on a colored paper for the cover of the book. They can draw pictures of their favorite animals white pages.
- When a child finishes drawing, help her staple the cover and pages together to make a book. Pray, thanking God for making animals.
