1s & 2s— Wash Vegetables
Bible Story: God Made the World Genesis 1:1–2:3
Life Point: God made everything.
Weekly Verse: God saw everything He had made, and it was very good. Genesis 1:31
Materials: Teaching Picture 5; plastic dishpan with water; dropcloth; two towels; nylon scrubber; firm vegetables to wash, such as a potato, carrot, and zucchini
- Drape the dropcloth over a low table. Place the dishpan on a towel on the dropcloth. Keep the second towel nearby to dry hands. Lay the vegetables and the scrubber next to the dishpan.
- Invite a preschooler to wash the vegetables. Talk about food he likes to eat. Comment that God made everything and He made plants for food.
- Look at the Teaching Picture with a preschooler who is waiting for a turn. Help her name the things God made that are represented in the picture. Thank God for His wonderful world.
3–Pre-K— Pretend to Care for a Pet

Materials: Teaching Picture 5, small stuffed dogs and cats, pet bowls, comb, empty pet food box, small dog toy
- Place the items on a table. Display the Teaching Picture near the items.
- Invite boys and girls to care for the pets by feeding them, combing them, and playing with them.
- Ask about pets the children may have at home and help care for. Call attention to the Teaching Picture. Point out different animals that God created. Thank God for making everything for us to enjoy.
Kindergarten— Make Nature Books
Bible Story: God Made the World Genesis 1:1–2:3
Life Point: God made everything.

Materials: Teaching Picture 5; white copy paper; construction paper; stapler; markers; variety of nature stickers representing animals, trees, food, and flowers
- Cut the copy paper and construction paper into fourths. Print on a sheet of white paper God made… flowers, trees, food, animals. Display the sign on the table.
- As children come to the table, show the Teaching Picture. Talk about things God made that are in the picture. Give each child several pieces of white paper and two pieces of construction paper. Explain that they will make a nature book.
- Children can use one or more stickers on each page of their books. Encourage them to copy the words from the sign you made, filling in the appropriate word for the stickers on that page. Assist with stapling the books together when they are finished. Pray and thank God for making a wonderful world for us.
