Bible Story: God Sent Rain 1 Kings 17:1; 18:1-2,41-46
Life Point: God helps us.
Weekly Verse: Who can bring the rain? Only God. Jeremiah 14:22
Materials: Teaching Picture 9, pictures of clouds (copied from internet), cardboard tubes, tape
- Attach the teaching picture and the cloud pictures to the walls. Make sure the pictures are at preschoolers’ eye level.
- Give a preschooler a cardboard tube and tell her to find the pictures. Point to the teaching picture and talk about the Bible story. Comment that Elijah’s helper looked for clouds in the sky. Say the Life Point and the Weekly Verse.
- Tell preschoolers they can find the clouds by looking through the tubes out the window.
3–Pre-K—Make Rain
Bible Story: God Sent Rain 1 Kings 17:1; 18:1-2,41-46
Life Point: God can do anything because He is God.
Weekly Verse: Who can bring the rain? Only God. Jeremiah 14:22
Materials: Teaching Picture 9, gallon-size ziplock bag, large clear container of water, strainers, colanders, drop cloth, towels
- Put a few inches of water into the large clear container. Layer the materials in this order: drop cloth, towel, teaching picture in ziplock bag, clear container of water.
- Invite boys and girls to play with the water and make “rain” with the strainers and colanders. Point to the teaching picture under the water. Comment that Elijah prayed for rain and God sent rain.
- Tell the children that God can do anything because He is God. Say the Weekly Verse: “Who can bring the rain? Only God. Jeremiah 14:22”
Kindergarten—Stamp Bible Verses

Materials: Teaching Picture 9, letter stamps, stamp pads, paper, marker
- Write God is good to us. Psalm 73:1 and Who can bring the rain? Only God. Jeremiah 14:22 on a sheet of paper for kids to copy. Arrange the materials on a table.
- As kids come to the table, point to the teaching picture and tell the Bible story. Mention that God can do anything, because He is God.
- Point to the verse and read them aloud to the kids. Encourage them to use the letter stamps to print the verses on their papers.
- Pray, thanking God that He can do anything.
