1s & 2s— Toss Beanbags
Bible Story: Zechariah and Elizabeth Obeyed Luke 1:5-25,39-45,57-66
Life Point: Families can do what God says.
Weekly Verse: We show love to God by obeying Him. 1 John 5:3
Materials: several beanbags, several boxes or dishpans
- Line the boxes or dishpans in a row next to a wall.
- Invite preschoolers to toss the beanbags into the boxes. Congratulate preschoolers on tossing the beanbag into a box.
- Tell the Bible story as the children play. Say that Zechariah and Elizabeth obeyed God.
- Tell the preschoolers they are learning and doing new things. They can learn to do what God says.
3–Pre-K— Play with Road Signs and Cars

Weekly Verse: We show love to God by obeying Him. 1 John 5:3
Materials: simple road signs, toy cars, wooden blocks
- If needed, make your own road signs. Draw, or print from the computer, simple road signs the children will recognize. Tape the signs to small blocks or cardboard tubes.
- Invite boys and girls to build roads with the blocks. They can add the signs to the roads and drive the cars. Comment that when people must obey the signs on the road.
- Briefly tell the Bible story. Say that families can do what God says.
Kindergarten—Stamp the Verse
Bible Story: Zechariah and Elizabeth Obeyed Luke 1:5-25,39-45,57-66
Life Point: Families can do what God says.
Weekly Verse: We show love to God by obeying Him. 1 John 5:3
Materials: letter stamps, stamp pads, paper, markers
- Print the Weekly Verse on a paper and lay it on a table with the letter stamps and stamp pads.
- Help kids read the verse when they come to the table. Show the stamps and stamp pads and encourage kids to stamp the verse using the letter stamps. Tell them they can use markers to decorate their papers if they wish.
- Tell the Bible story as kids work. Say that families can do what God says.
