Bible Story: A Family Cared for Its Baby Exodus 1:8–2:10
Life Point: Family members can help one another and work together.
Weekly Verse: Help one another in love. Galatians 5:13
Materials: Teaching Picture 10, vinyl doll, dishpan, water, washcloth, towel
- Put 1 inch of water in the dishpan. Place it on a low table or the floor with the towel and washcloth. Prop the teaching picture nearby.
- Invite a preschooler to wash the baby. Talk about ways that families care for babies.
- Point to the teaching picture and talk about the Bible story. Say family members can help one another and work together.
3–Pre-K— Weave Baskets

Weekly Verse: Help one another in love. Galatians 5:13
Materials: Teaching Picture 10, plastic or wire baskets, wide ribbon
- Display the teaching picture with the baskets and ribbon.
- Show the children how to weave the ribbon through the holes in the baskets. Point to the teaching picture and remark that Moses’ mother wove a basket to keep him safe.
- Explain Moses’ family worked together to keep him safe. Say the Weekly Bible Verse together.
Kindergarten— Paint with Watercolors

Weekly Verse: Help one another in love. Galatians 5:13
Materials: Teaching Picture 10, watercolor paints, paintbrushes, cups of water, paper, painting smocks, marker
- Place the teaching picture in the center of the table. Print the Weekly Verse onto a paper for each child.
- Invite a kindergartner to put on a smock and use the paints to create a picture. Read the verse together from the paper. Say this is how family members should treat each other.
- As children paint, talk about the Bible story. Point to the picture of Moses in his basket. Comment that family members can help one another and work together.
