Use these statements to connect each session of Bible Studies for Life: Kids to Christ as you teach your children each week.
Unit 1, Session 1: Jesus and the Children
Jesus showed His disciples that all people are important, even little children. In fact, He said people should have the faith of a child. When people have faith in Jesus, God forgives their sins.
Unit 1, Session 2: Jesus and the Man Who Could Not Walk
The man who could not walk needed to be healed. Jesus knew this and did something better; Jesus forgave his sins, and then He healed the man. Because Jesus is God, He has the power and authority to heal and forgive. Jesus offers forgiveness to those who trust in Him.
Unit 1, Session 3: Jesus and Zacchaeus
Jesus came to look for and rescue people who sin. He came to rescue people like you and me. Jesus died on the cross and rose again. He is happy when we are sorry for our sin, and He wants us to trust in Him.
Unit 1, Session 4: Jesus and the Woman at the Well
Jesus offered the woman something no one else could give her—living water. Jesus wasn’t talking about water that she could drink; Jesus was talking about the Holy Spirit who would satisfy her spiritual thirst. Jesus gives the Holy Spirit to those who trust in Him.
Unit 2, Session 1: God Helped Noah
God provided a rescue for one righteous man—Noah. The rescue was extended to Noah’s family. This story points to a greater rescue! Jesus, the only perfectly righteous person, came to take the punishment for sin. We trust His act of obedience and are saved from the punishment our sin deserves.
Unit 2, Session 2: God Called Abram
God chose Abraham to be the father of the nation in which Jesus would be born. In this way, Abraham would bless all nations, as God had promised. God also saw Abraham’s faith in God’s promises and counted it as righteousness. It is faith in Jesus’ perfect righteousness that brings salvation to God’s people.
Unit 2, Session 3: God Promised a Son to Abraham
God kept His promise to Abraham by giving him a son. God kept His promise to the world by giving us His Son. Jesus fulfilled God’s promise to Abraham, and He is the hope of the world for salvation and redemption.
Unit 2, Session 4: God Helped Isaac
God’s promise to Abraham extended to his family. The promise was shared with Rebekah, Isaac, Jacob, and eventually an entire nation leading to the birth of a baby boy named Jesus. Jesus fulfilled God’s plan to provide salvation and redemption for all of God’s people.
Unit 2, Session 5: God Was with Jacob
Jacob’s meeting with God changed his life as shown in his new name, Israel. Jesus came so that we might have a changed life, forgiven of sin. Jesus’ death and resurrection provided sinful people with the way to be adopted into God’s family.
Unit 3, Session 1: Joseph Helped Pharaoh
God sent Joseph to Egypt and blessed him, so that he rose to a position of great power. God used Joseph to save his family and many others in the world from starvation. Jesus left heaven to save all people from sin. Christ’s life and death made a way to save people from spiritual death, which is the penalty of sin.
Unit 3, Session 2: Joseph Stored Grain
God sent Joseph to Egypt and blessed him, so that he rose to a position of great power. God used Joseph to save his family and many others in the world from starvation. Jesus left heaven to save all people from sin. Christ’s life and death made a way to save people from spiritual death, which is the penalty of sin.
Unit 3, Session 3: Joseph Helped His Family
Joseph recognized that though his brothers intended evil, God planned his circumstances for good. Though those who crucified Jesus intended it for evil, God’s plan for the sacrifice of His Son was for the good of all people.
Unit 3, Session 4: Joseph Loved His Family
Joseph recognized that though his brothers intended evil, God planned his circumstances for good and forgave them. Jesus was sacrificed to save God’s people and give them forgiveness from sin.
