1s & 2s— Lace Christmas Cards
Bible Story: Angels Spoke to Mary and Joseph Matthew 1:18-24; Luke 1:26-38
Life Point: God planned for Jesus to be born.
Weekly Verse: Mary will have a son and you will call Him Jesus. Matthew 1:21
Materials: religious Christmas cards, hole punch, shoe strings
- Cut off the fronts of several Christmas cards. Punch holes around the outside edges of each card. Tie one end of a shoestring in one hole of each card.
- Invite preschoolers to lace the cards. Point to the picture on the card as a preschooler laces. Tell the Bible story.
- Say the Bible verse. Remind boys and girls that God planned for Jesus to be born.
3s–Pre-K—Talk on Telephones

Materials: Teaching Picture 1, toy telephones, old cell phones (remove batteries), notepads, pencils
- Place the telephones, notepads, and pencils on a table. Display the teaching picture near the items.
- As kids talk on phones and write messages on pads, point to the teaching picture and mention that God gave a special message to Mary and Joseph; He sent angels to tell them about God’s plan for Jesus to be born. Continue to talk about the Bible story.
- Say the Weekly Verse: “Mary will have a son and you will call Him Jesus. Matthew 1:21”
Kindergarten—Use Letter Stencils

Materials: Teaching Picture 1, letter stencils, colored pencils, paper
- Print the names Mary, Joseph and Jesus on sheets of paper. Display the names and the teaching picture with the other materials.
- Talk about the Bible story and point to the picture as kids come to the table. Help the kids read the names printed on the paper.
- Encourage kids to use the stencils to print the names or other words from the Bible story.
- Pray, thanking God for His plan for Jesus to be born.
