1s & 2s—Draw on Sandpaper
Bible Story: God Gave the Ten Commandments Exodus 19–20; 31:18; Deuteronomy 5:1-21

Materials: Teaching Picture 4, fine-grained sandpaper, tape, crayons
- Tape the sandpaper to a table for stability.
- Give 2s crayons to draw on the sandpaper. Ones may enjoy touching the sandpaper to feel its texture.
- Show the teaching picture and talk about the story. Comment that God tells us what He wants us to know and do. Say the Weekly Verse together.
3–Pre-K—Make a Mountain Collage

Materials: Bible, Teaching Picture 4, brown construction paper cut into triangle shapes, other colors of construction paper, scissors, glue sticks
- Display the art materials with the teaching picture.
- Give each child a brown triangle. Comment that the paper looks like a mountain. Talk about what other things they could find on a mountain—trees, flowers, and streams. Encourage them to make those things by cutting and gluing paper onto their mountains.
- Talk about the Bible story as kids create. Show the teaching picture. Remark that God tells us what He wants us to know and do. Open the Bible to Exodus 19:8 and say the Weekly Verse with the children.
Kindergarten—Make Bookmarks

Materials: Teaching Picture 4, clear contact plastic, tissue paper, address labels, tape
- Before the session, print We will do what God says. Exodus 19:8 onto the address labels. Cut the contact plastic into 3-by-8-inch pieces. Cut the tissue paper into small shapes.
- Tape the contact plastic onto the table, sticky side up. Kids can decorate their pieces with tissue paper. Give each child a label to place on his bookmark. Cover the bookmark with another piece of contact plastic.
- As the kids work, point to the teaching picture as you talk about the Bible story. Comment that God gave the ten commandments to help us learn what He wants us to know and do. Read the Weekly Verse with each child from her Bible marker..
