Materials: Teaching Picture 8, fine-grained sandpaper, tape, crayons
- Tape the sandpaper to a table for stability.
- Give 2s crayons to draw on the sandpaper. Ones may enjoy touching the sandpaper to feel its texture.
- Show the Teaching Picture and talk about the story. Comment that God helped the people have food and water; God helps people have they need.
3–Pre-K— Play with Family Figures

Materials: Teaching Picture 8, plastic or wooden family figures, wooden blocks
- Place the Teaching Picture and family figures with the blocks.
- Suggest that the kids could build a house or a church for the family.
- Show the Teaching Picture and talk about the Bible story. Tell the children that God helped the people have food and water.
- Pray, thanking God for helping people have what they need.
Kindergarten— Paint a Still Life

Materials: Teaching Picture 8, variety of fruit and vegetables (apple, orange, cucumber, carrot, etc.), shallow bowl, tempera cakes, cups of water, paintbrushes, painting smocks; paper, marker
- Print the Life Point along the top of a paper for each child. Arrange the fruit and vegetables in the bowl and place it on the art table.
- Encourage the kids to wear smocks while painting. Read the Life Point from the paper. Comment that God helped the Israelites have food and water as he traveled from Egypt.
- Suggest kids paint the still life of the food. Thank God for giving us what we need.
