The baby Jesus fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy, as well as other Old Testament prophecies, about the coming Savior. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus fulfilled God’s plan of redemption that God planned before the world began.
Unit 1, Session 2 Mary Visited Elizabeth
Mary and Elizabeth rejoiced that through Jesus, God planned to save His children. We, too, can praise God that Jesus came to earth, died for our sins, and now lives forever in heaven.
Unit 1, Session 3 Jesus Was Born in Bethlehem
The birth of Jesus was good news! Jesus was not an ordinary baby. He was God’s Son, sent to earth from heaven. Jesus came into the world to save people from their sins and to be their King.
Unit 1, Session 4 The Wise Men Worshiped Jesus
The wise men came to worship Jesus as King. Jesus is the King who will rule forever, as God promised to King David in 2 Samuel 7. Jesus is the true King who is worthy of all our worship.
Unit 2, Session 1 Jesus Healed the Official’s Son
The miracle of healing the official’s son was Jesus’ second sign he performed after He came to Judea. Jesus performed miracles to help people believe that He is the Son of God. Jesus has power over everything, and anyone who believes in Him will live with Him forever.
Unit 2, Session 2 Jesus Calmed a Storm
Jesus did miracles to help people believe that He is the Son of God. Jesus has power over everything. At night in a boat, Jesus calmed a storm on the Sea of Galilee. Jesus wanted the disciples to know they should trust God, no matter the circumstances. People can trust God in all things.
Unit 2, Session 3 Jesus Fed the People
Jesus fed a multitude. He responded to their need with compassion. Jesus could perform miracles because He is God’s Son. Even today, Jesus still performs miracles.
Unit 2, Session 4 Jesus Walked on Water
Jesus proved that He can be trusted. His miracles, teaching, death, and resurrection showed that He is who He says He is. Only Jesus can save us when we look to Him in faith.
Unit 3, Session 1 Ruth Chose to Help Naomi
Boaz was a family redeemer. That means he would help his close relatives who were in trouble. Boaz cared for Ruth and Naomi because their husbands had died. In a similar way, Jesus is our Redeemer. We need help because we sin. Jesus bought our salvation for us by taking our punishment when He died on the cross.
Unit 3, Session 2 Hannah Prayed
Hannah and her family always worshiped God. God listened to Hannah’s prayer for a son, and Samuel was born. Samuel used God’s words to tell the people what God is like. Jesus showed the world what God is like, and He told people to turn away from their sin. Jesus freed people from the power of sin by dying on the cross and rising again.
Unit 3, Session 3 A Widow Helped Elijah
Elijah trusted that God would provide for the widow, her son, and himself because God had promised to. When we trust in Jesus, we believe God will keep His promise to give us—His people—a home. Jesus obeyed God perfectly. He died on the cross and rose again so we can have a home with Him forever.
Unit 3, Session 4 Esther Helped Her People
God’s plan all along was to send the Messiah through Abraham’s family. Haman’s evil plan might have stopped God’s plan, but God was in control. He was working out a plan to use Esther to rescue His people and make the way for His Son, Jesus, to come into the world.
