Kids Summer 2026 Christ Connections

Use these statements to connect each session of Bible Studies for Life: Kids to Christ as you teach your children each week.

Unit 1, Session 1: Samuel Listened to God

Samuel used God’s words to tell the people what God is like. John 1:1 says that Jesus is the Word. Jesus showed the world what God is like, and He told people to turn away from their sin. Jesus ultimately freed people from the power of sin by dying on the cross and rising again.

Unit 1, Session 2: The People Sang

God called His people in the Old Testament to worship Him by building a special altar, gathering there, and singing praises to Him. Many years later, God sent His Son, Jesus, to be with His people. Now, because of Jesus, God’s people don’t have to go anywhere specific to worship Him. We can worship Him anywhere!

Unit 1, Session 3: People Prayed for Peter

God heard the prayers of the people. He had a plan for Peter, and He helped him escape from prison. Peter knew he might die because he believed in Jesus, but he wanted to share the good news about Jesus no matter what.

Unit 1, Session 4: The Antioch Church Helped

When Jesus lived on earth, He was a walking example of how we should love and serve other people: at all times and despite any barriers the world puts up. God called the church to love and serve one another. When the Antioch church helped, they were worshiping God through their love for the church.

Unit 2, Session 1: Gideon Obeyed God

The Israelites cried out to God because they knew they could not save themselves. Even Gideon was not enough to save them; God used Gideon to save His people, but God fought the battle for them. The people needed someone who was mighty to save. Jesus Christ came to save us from sin because we cannot save ourselves. Only God, through Christ, can save us.

Unit 2, Session 2: Rahab Hid the Spies in Jericho

Rahab is in the genealogy of Jesus (Matthew 1:5). By faith Rahab believed God would win the battle, and she asked the spies to show mercy to her family and keep them safe. When the Israelites attacked Jericho, Rahab and her family received mercy and became part of God’s people. Jesus has won against sin and death. Everyone who trusts in Jesus receives mercy and becomes part of God’s family forever.

Unit 2, Session 3: Mary Anointed Jesus’ Feet

Despite Judas’ advising against it for selfish gain, Mary anointed Jesus’ feet with expensive perfume as a gift. Lazarus was at the table watching Jesus be anointed not long after Jesus had resurrected Him from the dead. Jesus was also the anointed Savior that would be resurrected from the dead.

Unit 2, Session 4: The Young Ruler’s Question

The young ruler wanted Jesus to tell him that he was a good person who could get into heaven on his own. But that is not the case. Jesus wants us to love Him more than anything else in the world. Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we can choose to follow Jesus for the rest of our lives, loving Him more than any earthly possession.

Unit 3, Session 1: God Created the World

The Bible says that Jesus is Lord over all of creation. Everything was created by Him and for Him. Jesus has always existed, even at the creation of the universe, and He holds everything together. (Colossians 1:16-17)

Unit 3, Session 2: God Created People

God created people in His own image. Adam was like God in some ways, but he was not a perfect representation of God. God sent His Son, Jesus, to show us exactly what God is like. (Colossians 1:15) Jesus is the perfect representation of God because He is God. (Hebrews 1:3)

Unit 3, Session 3: Abram Solved a Problem

Just like other families, Abram’s family had serious disagreements. Abram helped his family through their conflict, reminding us that we can work through difficulties and live at peace together, too. Conflict exists and families fight because we live in a broken, sin-filled world. However, because of Jesus’ sacrifice, God’s people can soon live in harmony with Him—no conflict, anger, or sadness—for all of eternity.

Unit 3, Session 4: Jacob and Esau Reconciled

Esau forgave Jacob for taking the blessing of the firstborn. Jesus is the firstborn over all creation. (Colossians 1:15) When Jesus hung on the cross, He gave up His blessing for us. Jesus took the punishment we deserve so that the Father would give us the blessing Jesus deserves.

Unit 3, Session 5: Joseph Loved His Brothers

Joseph recognized that though his brothers intended evil, God planned his circumstances for good and forgave them. Jesus was sacrificed to save God’s people and give them forgiveness from sin.
