Kids Summer 2021 Christ Connection Statements

May 4, 2021 By Kimba Campbell 1 Comment

Use these statements to connect each session of Bible Studies for Life: Kids to Christ as you teach your children each week.

Unit 1, Session 1: Jesus Healed a Paralyzed Man

The man who was paralyzed needed to be healed. Jesus knew this and did something even greater; Jesus forgave his sins, and then He healed the man. Because Jesus is God, He has the power and authority to heal and forgive. Jesus forgives those who trust in Him.

Unit 1, Session 2: Jesus Calmed the Storm

Jesus is not like any other man who lived on earth. Because He is fully God and fully man, His power extends over all creation, and all obey His commands. Because He is God’s Son, Jesus could do mighty things.

Unit 1, Session 3: Nicodemus Visited Jesus

Nicodemus needed new life—eternal life—but he could not do anything to earn it. Eternal life is a gift that comes only from God. God showed His love in this way: He sent His One and Only Son to save the world. Everyone who believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life.

Unit 1, Session 4: Jesus Promised the Holy Spirit

God wants us to show friendship and love to one another. As believers, we all belong to Jesus. His death and resurrection bring us together. The Holy Spirit changes the way we think and live so we can love one another as God has loved us.

Unit 2, Session 1: God Created the World

The Bible says that Jesus is Lord over all of creation. He was there at the beginning of creation, and everything was created by Him and for Him. The Son has always existed, and He holds everything together. (Colossians 1:16-17)

Unit 2, Session 2: Adam and Eve Sinned

Since Adam and Eve, everyone has sinned against God. Our sin separates us from God. God promised that one of Eve’s descendants would put an end to sin and death. God sent His Son, Jesus, to live as Adam didn’t—perfectly sinless. God the Son came into the world to rescue people from sin and bring them back to God.

Unit 2, Session 3: Noah Built the Ark

God rescued Noah and his family from the flood; only they lived. The story of Noah points ahead to a greater rescue. God’s Son, Jesus—the only perfectly righteous One—came to take the punishment for our sin. By trusting in Him, we are saved from the punishment our sin deserves. Jesus died so that we can live.

Unit 2, Session 4: People Built a Tower

People chose to give glory to themselves instead of God. They ignored God’s plan, so God confused their language and scattered the people all over the earth. One day, Jesus will gather together all of God’s people—people from every tribe and people who speak all kinds of languages—and they will worship Him. (Revelation 7:9-10)

Unit 3, Session 1: God Sent Ten Plagues

At Passover, God spared the Israelites from judgment by requiring the blood of a lamb. Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, and God provided a way for them to escape through the Red Sea. The Bible says that Jesus is greater than Moses. (Hebrews 3:3) Jesus is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world. People who trust in Jesus escape the penalty of sin and have eternal life.

Unit 3, Session 2: David Faced Goliath

David was not a big or strong warrior, but he trusted God. God gave David power. When God sent His Son to earth, Jesus did not look like a strong warrior either. But by dying on the cross and coming back to life, Jesus showed His power to save sinners.

Unit 3, Session 3: A Widow’s Oil Multiplied

God showed mercy to the widow and her son by providing for their physical needs, and He has been merciful and generous to us by providing for our spiritual needs. He gave us the greatest gift—His own Son. Jesus showed us what generosity looks like when He gave up His life to save us from sin. Because of Jesus, we can be merciful and generous to others.

Unit 3, Session 4: Three Men Delivered from the Fiery Furnace

God was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fire. Only He could rescue them. God rescues us too, through His Son, Jesus. Only Jesus can save us from our sin. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross provided the way for us to be rescued from sin and have eternal life.

Unit 3, Session 5: God Judged Belshazzar

All of salvation—from first trusting to faithful obedience—is God’s gift to us through Jesus. The Holy Spirit changes our minds and hearts so that we want to obey God, and He gives us power to obey. Our righteousness does not come through faith in ourselves but through faith in Jesus.
