Grades 1-3
Introductory Activity – What Would You Do?
Materials: no materials needed
Tell your kids you are going to share some possible situations with them. After each situation, you’re going to ask them two questions: What would you do? What does the Bible say about what you should do?
Situations:
Your sister just came into your room for the fourth time after you told her to leave.
Your mom asked you to take the trash out.
Your brother is playing with your favorite toy, and you want to play with it.
Tell your kids the Life Point and remind them that God helps them know what to do when they read the Bible.
Live It Out
Game – Eye on You
Materials: no materials needed
Instruct kids to stand facing you about an arm’s length apart from each other. Tell them you are going to give them instructions on what they should do, but you’re not going to talk to them. You will give your instructions through your eyes. If someone does the wrong motion, then they have to sit to the side and cheer the others on. Here are the instructions:
Blink right eye – Jump up
Blink right eye twice – Sit down
Blink left eye – Spin around to the right
Blink left eye twice – Spin around to the left
Blink both eyes – Cluck like a chicken
Blink both eyes twice – Bark like a dog
After playing several rounds of the game, have everyone say the Weekly Verse together. Tell your students that God is always watching them so He can always help them know how to do the right thing.
Craft – Stars in the Sky
Materials: black construction paper, yellow construction paper, scissors, markers, glue
Hand out black and yellow construction paper to all your kids. Instruct them to draw six stars on the yellow paper and cut them out. Next, they should glue the stars to the black construction paper. On each star, they should write one word of the Life Point. Remind your students that just as God gave Abram instructions on what he should do, God will do the same for them. Encourage them to read their Bible this week so God can help them know what to do.
Grades 4-6
Introductory Activity – Too Many to Count
Materials: large clear container, marbles, paper, pens
Before class, fill a large clear container with marbles and place it in the front of the room. As children arrive, instruct them to try and figure out how many marbles are in the container. Tell kids that the one who gets closest to the correct number, without going over, wins. Tell them to write their answer and their name on a piece of paper and give it to you. After announcing the winner, tell your kids that just as it was hard to count the marbles, God told Abram to try and count the stars to represent the great work He was going to do through Abram’s life.
Live It Out
Game – Silliness Review
Materials: paper, pen, cup or bowl
Before class, write silly instructions on slips of paper and put them in a cup or bowl. Break your students into two teams. Tell your children that you will read a review question and the team that correctly answers first will get a point. That team will then send a representative to the bowl and pull out an instruction. If they’re willing to follow the instruction, their team will get another point. At the end of the questions, the team with the most points wins! Remind your kids that God helps them know what to do when they read the Bible.
Sample instructions you could use:
Wiggle like a worm
Moo like a cow
Run around the room as fast as they can
Do their best dance move
Craft – Bible Story Emojis
Materials: paper plates, colored pencils or crayonsGive every child two paper plates. Instruct your children to draw four emojis, one on each side of their plates. The emoji’s should cover four different emotions – happy, sad, angry, surprised. As you review the Bible story, tell kids to show what feeling they would have felt if they were living through the Bible story. If a child shows a different emoji from the majority of the class, be sure to ask them why he answered that way. At the end of the lesson, remind children that no matter how they feel, God will always help them know what to do.

I apologize that you are having trouble finding the files you need. The printables are on the enhanced CD, but we also include them here on the blog. Go to: https://biblestudiesforlife.lifeway.com/leader-extras-kids/
Click on Enhanced CD Printables under the Kids Fall 2022 Extras. Then click on the age group that you need. Under each age group there are age specific printables, but we also provide printables used for every age under the general teaching resources. Items in the general teaching resources are coloring pages, missions, book of the Bible cards, etc.
The Yes I know printable is the last page on the Grades 1-2 Printables. Click on the Grades 1-2 printables and then scroll down to p. 27. These are in alphabetical order on the pdf so that is why it is the last page.
Starting in Spring 2023, we are also adding a download card with a code to the Enhanced CD so people can download the music and printables using the code.
Please reach out any time you have questions.
Thank you!
