Grades 1-3
Introductory Activity – Balance Challenge
Materials: pencils
Line the kids up on one side of the room. Tell them they will balance a pencil on the end of their finger and walk to the other side of the room and back with the pencil on their finger. If they drop it, they must start over. Tell them that the person who completes the task the fastest is the winner! Explain that taking steps while balancing the pencil represents taking steps of faith. Tell them that in today’s lesson, they will see people reveal faith in Jesus by believing He can do impossible things. Say the Life Point together.

Game – Jesus Heals Skits
Materials: Bibles
Form three groups with the kids, and assign each group one of Jesus’ miracles from Matthew 8:1-15. Instruct each group to read about their miracle and create a short skit. Give the groups enough time to develop their skits. Allow each group to share their skit with the rest of the class. After each group has shared, say the Life Point together.
Craft – Healing Hands
Materials: paper, non-toxic washable paint, construction paper, markers, paintbrushes
Give each child a piece of paper and ensure they have access to the other supplies. Using a paintbrush, paint the bottom of each child’s hand. Instruct them to press their hand onto their paper, creating a handprint. Allow time for the children to wash their hands. Instruct them to write the Weekly Verse at the bottom of the page. Direct them to write HEALING HANDS on the top of the page. Remind the kids that Jesus’ hands heal everyone.
Grades 4-6
Introductory Activity – Building Blocks of Faith
Materials: plastic interlocking bricks
Form several groups with the kids. Give each group a large pile of plastic interlocking bricks. Direct them to build something that represents faith in Jesus. Be sure to leave your direction intentionally vague so they can use their creativity. Once everyone is finished, allow each group to show their creations to the class. Write the Life Point on the board. Tell the kids that we place our faith in Jesus because He can do things no one else can.

Allow multiple volunteers to participate.

JESUS FED 5,000 PEOPLE
JESUS RAISED SOMEONE FROM THE DEAD
JESUS PROVIDED MANY FISH IN FISHING NETS
JESUS HEALED SOMEONE WHO COULDN’T WALK
JESUS HEALED SOMEONE WHO COULDN’T TALK

Give each child a piece of paper and ensure they have access to the other supplies. Direct them to look at Matthew 8:1-15. Tell them to choose one of Jesus’ miracles and draw and color what they think it looked like when Jesus performed the miracle. Direct them to write the Weekly Verse at the bottom of the paper. Allow several volunteers to share their pictures with the class.
