Unit 1, Session 1
Jesus Healed the Official’s Son
John 4:46-54
Jesus performed miracles to help people believe that He is the Messiah, the Son of God. Jesus has power over everything, and those who believe in Him will have eternal life.
Unit 1, Session 2: Jesus Calmed the Storm
Jesus is the only one who has power to calm storms, both physical and spiritual. Just like the disciples had a hard time trusting Jesus to calm their storm, we sometimes struggle to trust Jesus to calm our difficulties, too. Jesus was with the disciples and He is always right there with us.
Unit 1, Session 3: Jesus Healed a Man Born Blind
Jesus is the Great Healer. He has power over sickness and death and darkness. In some circumstances, Jesus chooses to take away sickness so that people might believe in Him. Yet if we believe and trust in Jesus as our Savior, He removes our greatest disease, sin, and promises that we will live forever healed in His kingdom.
Unit 1, Session 4: Jesus Walked on Water
Jesus proved that He can be trusted. His miracles—like walking on water—teaching, death, and resurrection showed that He is who He says He is. Only Jesus can save us when we look to Him in faith.
Unit 1, Session 5: Breakfast with Jesus
Peter denied Jesus three times, but Jesus still forgave Him. He alone holds the power to forgive us from our sins, too! Even when we sin against Jesus, He is faithful to forgive us when we turn back to Him.
Unit 2, Session 1: Noah
God rescued Noah and his family from the flood; only they lived. The story of Noah points ahead to a greater rescue. God’s Son, Jesus—the only perfectly righteous One—came to take the punishment for our sin. By trusting in Him, we are saved from the punishment our sin deserves. Jesus died so that we can live.
Unit 2, Session 2: Abraham and Sarah
God called Abraham to leave his country and family to go to another land. God promised to bless all the world through Abraham. God sent Jesus from His home in heaven to be born on earth into Abraham’s family. Through Jesus, all the nations of the earth are blessed.
Unit 2, Session 3: Moses and the Israelites
God promised to free the Israelites from their slavery, and He did just that. In the same way, He promises to free His children from sin. To keep that promise, God sent Jesus to die on the cross, taking the punishment for our sin.
Unit 2, Session 4: King David
God promised David that every future king of Israel would come from David’s family, and David’s kingdom would last forever. God kept His promise by sending His Son, Jesus, to be one of David’s descendants. Jesus is our King who will never die; He will rule over God’s people forever.
Unit 3, Session 1: God Told Jeremiah What to Write
God’s Word is powerful. It is always true, even when we don’t want to hear what it says. The Bible says that Jesus is “the Word.” Jesus is God who came to live with people on earth. Jesus has the power to change our hearts.
Unit 3, Session 2: Ezekiel Offered Hope
God showed Ezekiel a valley of dry bones. The dry bones remind us what we are like when we sin. God showed Ezekiel His power to make dead people alive. We see God’s power at the cross. Jesus died to save sinners. God raised Jesus from the dead, and He gives us eternal life.
Unit 3, Session 3: Daniel Interpreted the King’s Dreams
God’s law shows us what He requires—perfect righteousness. Everyone has sinned against God and against one another. God sent His Son, Jesus, to live the perfect life we have not lived and to take the punishment we deserve for our sin. When we trust in Jesus, God forgives our sin and gives us eternal life.
Unit 3, Session 4: Prophets Told Abut Jesus
God’s plan to save people from sin and death was not a secret plan. God used the prophets to give hope to His people. The prophets said God would send a Messiah—born into the world as a baby—to live the perfect life people fail to live and die the guilty death we deserve.
