The Sign of His Provision
The Point: Jesus meets the needs in our lives.

Amazon executive Mike Hopkins recently announced the celebration of a new acquisition for Amazon Studios: “Since his theatrical introduction over 60 years ago, James Bond has been one of the most iconic characters in filmed entertainment.” Since 2021, Amazon has had distribution rights for all Bond films, but in late February of 2025, the company expanded its interests in the spy story franchise. After years of partial ownership, Amazon Studios acquired creative control of the James Bond empire, which will naturally lead to adjustments and expansions of the brand. The former, long-time, brand leaders noted their trust in “Amazon MGM Studios, to lead James Bond into the future.”
However, BBC noted that “news of the deal has been met with mixed reaction[s].” One 007 fan noted that, after many years without new movies, this change holds potential because, “Amazon as a company will not have patience for inactivity.” Some fans worry that the character of James Bond may be altered or become out of sync with the franchise, while others note that the staying power of James Bond can be attributed to how the character has flexed over the decades. Across many years, and played by many actors, “there are a lot of people…for whom James Bond has been part of their culture their entire lives.”
Say: “While the details of his life may flex in future film productions, James Bond’s brave and clever spycraft will continue to inspire new generations.”

Use the following information to introduce Question #3.
Have you noticed that the “most important meal of the day” costs more today than it did one year ago, much less five years ago? One dozen eggs cost $1.55 in 2019, and now costs (on average) $4.19. “It’s not only the surging cost of eggs that is making breakfast pricier these days,” noted CBS News; “the price of coffee is also spiking.” Breakfast items are far from the only products and commodities with rapidly moving costs. While many groceries have increased in price, staples like beef, juice, and sugar have risen between 48-70%.
The battle plan against rising prices can take many forms. When a government takes measures to fight inflation at its root, as Argentina’s President has done over the past twelve months, it can trickle down to consumers and reduce daily costs. Though the economic picture for America in Spring 2025 is not yet fully seen, indicators seem to show “price growth is once again intensifying” in American grocery stores and will not slow down any time soon. Traditional money-saving strategies, like shopping sales and assessing your spending habits may be a worthwhile consideration. Many consumers may opt out of eggs and coffee for breakfast. Whenever and wherever there is inflation, people will work to make much of their shrinking purchasing power.
Say: “We may note and try to implement savvy strategies- but ultimately, when costs rise, it will mean having less purchasing power. God’s capacity isn’t like that. No government or budgeting strategy can do what God is able to do.”
